The momentous event took place on May 26, 2023, at the Vice Chancellor’s office, symbolizing a promising collaboration between academia and industry.
On behalf of the University, the Vice Chancellor, Senior Professor Nilanthi De Silva, Mr. K. K. K. DharmaThilaka, the Registrar, and Senior Professor S. R. D. Kalingamudali, Dean of the Faculty of Science signed the agreements. Representing Susen Holdings Private Limited, Mr. P. P. D. Gihan Kanishka, Managing Director, Mrs. D. L. Padmaseeli, Mrs. Romani Thalawatte were present and signed the license agreements.
he first license agreement pertains to a groundbreaking technology developed by a team from the University of Kelaniya. This innovation, known as the “Auto Removing Regulator for Liquefied Petroleum Gas Cylinders and Electricity Cut-off System at Gas Leakages,” has been granted a patent under the number 20365. Its design revolutionizes safety measures in handling liquefied petroleum gas cylinders, ensuring efficient gas leak detection and automatic electrical disconnection.
The second license agreement encompasses the cutting-edge “Artificial Intelligence-based Smart Liquid Petroleum Gas Level Indicator.” This technology, bearing patent number 22121, offers an advanced solution for accurately monitoring and managing liquid petroleum gas levels. The system employs artificial intelligence algorithms to provide real-time information, enhancing efficiency and safety in gas consumption.

Kalingamudali, Professor A. L. A. K. Ranaweera, Mr. R. M. I. U. Rajapaksha, Mr. P. S. Hasaranga Perera, Mr. P. K. D. Madhuranga Nandasena, Mr. P. S. T. Kanishka Gunarathna, and Mr. P. P. D.
